Coaching Staff: Asst. Coach Dave Ewers, Quarterbacks

David Ewers enters his fifth year on the Olathe Northwest football staff. Ewers came to Northwest from the DeSoto School district. During his tenure in DeSoto, David served as an assistant football coach on the DeSoto High School football staff, where his duties included coaching quarterbacks and defensive backs. Coach Ewers also served as an assistant track coach for the Wildcats. David’s previous coaching experience includes a one-year stint at Shawnee Mission East under Coach Dain where he coached varsity quarterbacks and was instrumental in guiding the Lancers to the Kansas 6A Sub-State game in 2001. He also spent one season at Shawnee Mission South as an assistant boys basketball coach in 2001-2002. In addition to his football duties at Northwest, David also serves as the Head Track and Field Coach for the Ravens. David graduated from Baker University in 2001, and was a member of the Baker football team from 1997-2000. In 2001, David earned a spot on the NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete team. David went to Kemp High School in Kemp, Texas, where he lettered in four sports and earned all-county honors in football. David and his wife, Ramona make their home in Shawnee with their son, Major (4).
