Coaching Staff: Asst. Coach Mike McLaughlin, Offensive Line

Mike McLaughlin enters his first year on the Olathe Northwest staff. McLaughlin comes to Olathe Northwest from Jefferson City High School (MO) where he coached football and was the head wrestling coach. Mike McLaughlin, who teaches U.S. History and Government at Olathe Northwest, is beginning his 19th year of teaching. McLaughlin has spent a total of 15 years coaching offensive and defensive lines both at Jefferson City and Olathe South High Schools. This includes his stints as assistant coach on teams that won 5 football state titles, 1 state football runner-up, and 1 wrestling state title. McLaughlin also spent 8 years as head wrestling coach at Olathe South and Jefferson City. During that time, his teams compiled a 102-27 record with teams finishing in the State Top 10 five of those eight years. Coach McLaughlin will also serve as an assistant wrestling coach here at Olathe Northwest. McLaughlin is a native of Jefferson City, Missouri and later earned BA in history from William Jewell College; MA in history from Lincoln University. Mike and his wife, Sarah reside in Olathe with their three children, Claudia(9), Brady(7), and Aidan(3). .
